What an
incredible birthday party we had last night! There was concern that
we could have had few kids due to the playroom renovation. To our
surprise we had both the studio, hallways and info alley at standing
room only. Volunteers from every night helped decorate, face paint
and escort patients and families to all the fun. DJ Laz rocked the
studio. The Magic show was a sold out event. The clowns and
volunteers brought laughter and play to our patients bedsides. We
even had a long time listener bring the volunteers birthday gifts.
Last night I
observed dedicated volunteers having lollipop fun while demonstrating
the power of team work. Thank you to all the volunteers last night
who made this a successful event. Thanks to Alice Gabrielloff
and Rachel Meadors for coming in extra early to set
up and decorate. Special thanks to our wonderful Child Life staff, Traci
Maye and Cassie Walker for their assistance.
Thank you Daniela Quesada, Tuesday volunteer, for
donating that beautiful Birthday cake. It was incredibly delicious.
